Nagoya lies at the heart of the Chubu Region of Central Japan, which includes nine “ken”, or prefectures; Aichi, Fukui, Gifu, Ishikawa, Nagano, Niigata, Shizuoka, Toyama and Yamanashi. It is the 4th largest city in Japan with a population of over 2 million people.
